What are fan heater with coil heating element?

A heating coil is normally powered by electricity. When the coil is charged with electric power, it becomes red hot. This heat is transferred into the open area by using an exhaust fan. As the fan blows air over the coil, the coil is continually heated, which warms the air.

Portable heaters have an emergency override mechanism to prevent overheating. This is a safety feature that turns the heater off if the fan element stops. Without this safety feature, the heater could overheat the external container, causing the device to melt and catch on fire.

Used in appliances and industrial equipment, heating coils change electrical current into heat energy. Manufacturers make heating coils from metal alloys, which are a combination of two or more elements.

Heating coils can contain a number of other compounds. Alloys of nickel, iron and chrome are also used in household appliances. Coiled heating elements are made of tungsten and stainless steel in industrial equipment that requires higher temperatures.

Heater coils work though a process known as resistive heating. As electrons pass though the copper conductor, they are scattered and in the process lose energy to the surroundings. This energy is given off as heat.

Coil heaters feature continuous operating temperatures up to. Rapid heating and cooling occur, due to the low mass construction. All heating elements are sealed from contamination and the stainless steel sheath provides maximum corrosion resistance. An optional internal thermocouple may be utilized for over temp control.
